iChallenge Application Process

Step 1: Request for Ideas
We are currently accepting short RFI (request for idea) applications from interested applicants through Feb. 5th, 2011. The request for ideas form can be found here. Please note that within the form, you can opt to upload a short video or a written description of your idea.
Step 2: Invitation to Submit Full Proposals
Applications will be read and evaluated on a rolling basis. By February 26th, we will have invited the creators of up to 12 RFIs to submit full proposals. Final proposals will be due by the end of March.
Full proposals will address: the idea; why the sponsoring agency, community or individual is suited to lead this project; proposed timeline; evaluation; budget; sustainability.
Successful projects will demonstrate:

Use of diverse lenses (social action, technology,arts, sports, environment, health, etc.) that speak to today's learners

Promise of potential impact on target audience

Creation of high-quality Jewish educational experience

Potential to develop a culture of creativity and innovation within the organization/community

Adaptability

Potential for adaptation across educational settings and age groups

Sustainability

Demonstration of potential for sustainability beyond the grant cycle

Demonstration of organizational capacity to build on the paradigms in other areas of their activities and programming

Step 3: Interviews and Selection of the Cohort
We expect to award grants to five projects for 2011-2012.
Grant Terms
Grants will be awarded up to $30,000 for a one-year term. Selected projects could apply for a second year of support dependent on:

Agreement to a 2-1 funding match, in which the incubator grant would cover 1/2 of the program expense and the balance would be split between the participating organization and the iCenter
All grantees must commit to participate in four, day-long professional development and collaboration workshops with other grantees for duration of grant period.
