Israel @ Camp

Jewish summer camp is an ideal setting for Israel education. It offers an all-encompassing environment where the day is full of diverse activities; staff members are young, accessible Jewish role models; and an increasing number of shlichim help shape the program. This immersive experience provides great opportunities to infuse Israel into the fabric of everyday life, and to sustain a meaningful culture of Israel education.

Israel @ Camp Intensive

The Israel @ Camp Intensive is an 18-month process for camp leadership to deepen and align Israel learning and engagement throughout camp. Israel @ Camp builds on past initiatives, including the Goodman Camping Initiative for Modern Israel History and Bringing Israel to Camp.

  • Support the development of a broad vision for Israel education at your camp along with a strategic implementation plan
  • Provide frameworks that enable North American staff and shlichim to train and work in partnership to enhance Israel education at camp
  • Provide camps with quality Israel education resources and guidelines for their effective use

Israel @ Camp Intensive camps will:

  • Receive mentorship from a master Israel educator through a guided visioning process
  • Develop a thoughtful and strategic implementation plan that supports your camp's vision
  • Participate in a joint training experience in Israel in 2018 along with shlichim, camp directors, and Israel educators. This experience will be integrated with JAFI’s Shlichim Training Seminar and will include additional experience days preceding and/or following the seminar
  • Gain access to high quality Israel programs and materials tailored to camp settings
