Yitzhak Rabin: A Legacy
Yitzhak Rabin was born in Jerusalem in 1922. He served in the Palmach and the IDF for 27 years, culminating his military career as IDF Chief of Staff.
After retiring from the military, Rabin served as Israeli Ambassador to the United States, beginning his long and impressive career serving in the Israeli government. On November 4th, 1995 (12 Cheshvan), Rabin was assassinated when leaving a peace rally in central Tel Aviv. He was 73 years old. Rabin was laid to rest on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
