“Just like everyone learns differently in school, sparking teens’ interest about Israel must take many different forms. Small things such as personal outreach, hands on projects and hearing about specific connections to Israel may be all a teen needs to motivate them to become involved with Israel.”
If you could be dropped off anywhere in Israel where would it be and why?
If I could go back to any place in Israel, I would go to Yemin Orde Youth Village. On my trip to Israel, we visited this school and I fell in love as soon as I got there. Not only is it a beautiful campus with and amazing view of the Carmel Mountains, but the work that is being done is fantastic as well. This Youth Village is a place 500 teens from across the world can call home while there is no where else they are able to stay. During the mountain fires, a large amount of the campus burned, but some of the most meaningful places were miraculously preserved. The strength and hope the teens and staff of Yemin Orde have is what made me love this place so much!
What are you looking forward to most as an MZ teen?
As a MZ teen, I am looking forward to sharing my Israel journey and showing my community the pieces of Israel that touched me. Since returning from Israel, I have grown increasingly enthusiastic about my experience and am so excited to have a place to use my enthusiasm.
