  • Designate a staff member in a leadership role as Key Point Person for this Intensive (~0.25 FTE).
  • Select at least 2 areas at camp within which to experiment with new ideas and programs around Israel each summer, with the guidance and support of your faculty mentor.
  • Participate in a joint training experience in Israel in 2019 along with shlichim, camp directors, and Israel educators. This experience will be integrated with JAFI’s Shlichim Training Seminar and will include additional experience days preceding and/or following the seminar.

Israel @ Camp Intensive Application

We were able to use Israel @ Camp as a motivator and push toward increasing the use of Hebrew at camp. A small example is that we were finally able to add ‘tzevet’ to the back of our staff shirts. It means a lot to our shlichim to have ‘staff’ written in both English and Hebrew.
- 2017 Intensive Participant
We aspire to include Israel in the avira of camp. This year, as a result of participation in Israel @ Camp, our chanichim shared their stories about and connections to Israel. This story sharing was a part of Yom Yisrael and included the stories of chanichim who feel connected to the land, but have never been there in person. It was beautiful to see!
